| Our Philosophy At Excel Discovery Center children are encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a nurturing environment. Developmentally appropriate experiences result from professionals creating a caring community of learners based on knowledge of child development and learning, the strengths and interests of each child, and strong relationships with each family. Excel Discovery Center provides inquiry-based learning opportunities for children. Inquiring happens when the learner gathers information through authentic experiences and begins to ask questions. The natural curiosity of each child is fostered through a long-term investigation of a topic that is fascinating and meaningful to the children. During the investigation, questions are asked and explored. New knowledge is created as children share, reflect, and express creatively the information they have learned. The experiences and encounters that occur during the early childhood years have a profound impact on future attitudes about self and school.
